We often think that the only way to heal is through time and/or expensive therapies. We are often stuck in fight or flight mode because that's the mode that we're most used to. That mode is familiar. But sympathetic activation (fight, flight, freeze, fawn) is not conducive to healing. In fact, there are lots of processes in our bodies that actually shut down in a survival state. So how do we shift ourselves back into a state of safety? Karianne, certified yoga teacher, cancer survivor, and Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner will teach about the Autonomic Nervous System and how it relates to trauma. According to the Adverse Childhood Experiences study, we know that unmitigated trauma can cause a whole host of acute and chronic health challenges. In this webinar, you will learn several easy, practical techniques to use to help signal safety to your survival brain. Once empowered with the understanding of how your nervous system works and how to identify the state of your nervous system, you will be well on your way to being able to implement safety-giving practices on a daily basis. Joy, a Birth-Three Specialist, will be bring understanding to how trauma impacts children and what parents can do about it. Joy also has a parent coaching business where she works 1:1 with parents to equip them with the tools they need to raise securely attached, regulated children. In this webinar, we’ll explore how domestic violence professionals can leverage the free, high-quality online learning program Verizon Skill Forward to help survivors build the skills they need to secure employment, advance their careers, and reach their personal goals. We’ll discuss practical ways to integrate these resources into survivor support services and provide actionable strategies to empower survivors on their journey toward independence. Join us to discover how online learning can be a game-changer for the survivors you serve—offering them hope, growth, and a brighter future.
