We are so excited to announce that bestselling author Chanel Miller will be our keynote speaker at CFJ’s 26th Annual Speaking of Women luncheon, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023, beginning at noon at The Waterview in Monroe. Chanel is a writer and an artist. She is also a survivor. After being known by the public only as Emily Doe, a young woman who was sexually assaulted and left unconscious by a dumpster by a Stanford swimmer, Chanel reclaimed her identity through her victim impact statement, which promptly went viral - viewed by 11 million people within four days, translated globally and read on the floor of Congress. In her memoir Know My Name, a New York Times bestseller, Chanel recounts the traumatic experience of being sexually assaulted and navigating the criminal justice system. Chanel's story is one of hope and inspiration, and we are humbled to have her speak to us about her experience. We hope you will join us!
